A commitment to our customers, growers, and consumer base helps maintain a diverse and educated staff with the goal of not only providing superior service, but setting a new gold standard in the fresh produce industry.

Beginning at dawn, field harvest crews comb the fields, selecting only mature fruit. Under the supervision of field managers, these crew members pack a high quality box that is recognized throughout the industry as one of the best.

     

 

Westside Produce operates a state of the art, forced air cooler in Firebaugh, California. The facility offers efficient operation, high air flow fan capacity, and is accessed and maintained by a 21st century computer management system (CMS). With its sixteen tunnels, melons are covered and cooled from temperatures above 100 to below 40 in approximately four hours. Barcoding technology and a custom inventory management system ensure that cartons are shipped quickly, accurately, and reported on demand.

Jim Malanca has been a TRI/ Westside Produce salesman for two decades, and over the years, has developed and maintained working relationships with a wide range of customers. Working in cooperation with our sales staff, our experienced team of shippers use our detailed inventory management system to determine which orders are available to ship and where and to whom they are going. For safety, a series of checks and balances has been established to prevent errors and ensure proper pick-up and loading procedure while food safety checks are performed on every truck that loads at our dock.
